Yangjiang, Guangdong, Dec 26,2023: China on Tuesday successfully launched a Long March-11 carrier rocket into space, sending three satellites into planned orbit.
The Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center launched the rocket from waters off the coast of Yangjiang, south China’s Guangdong Province, at 6:39 a.m. (Beijing Time).
The satellites, Shiyan-24C, will be mainly used for space science and technology experiments.
It was the 503rd mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
Chennai, Sep 10,2023: The third earth-bound manoeuvre of the Aditya-L1, India’s maiden solar exploratory mission to study the sun, was successfully performed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
The orbit raising was performed at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Bengaluru at 0230 hrs early on Sunday morning.
ISRO’s ground stations at Mauritius, Bengaluru, SDSC-SHAR and Port Blair tracked the satellite during this operation.
The new orbit attained was 296 km x 71767 km.
The next manoeuvre (EBN#4) is scheduled for September 15, 2023, around 02:00 Hrs IST.
In an update ISRO said “Aditya-L1 Mission: The third Earth-bound manoeuvre(EBN#3) is performed successfully from ISTRAC, Bengaluru. ISRO’s ground stations at Mauritius, Bengaluru, SDSC-SHAR and Port Blair tracked the
satellite during this operation.”
“The new orbit attained is 296 km x 71767 km. The next manoeuvre (EBN#4) is scheduled for September 15, 2023, around 02:00 Hrs. IST”, it said.
Bengaluru, Aug 24,2023: Pragyan rover has ramped down from Vikram lander and has taken a walk on the moon, ISRO said after the successful and historic soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the south pole of the Moon.
“Made in India, Made for the Moon, The Ch-3 Rover ramped down from the Lander and India took a walk on the moon!” ISRO Xed. Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre Chairman Pawan K Goenka shared the first picture of this historic event.
Before Chandrayaan-3 soft-landed on the Moon at 6.04 pm, the lander chose a safe and flat region on the lunar surface for the landing.
Pragyan will conduct a series of experiments around 500 meters on the Moon surface for the next 14 days and send the collected data to Vikram. It weighs 26kg and has two payloads.
One payload will analyse the chemical composition of the Moon surface, another will determine the elemental composition of the Moon soil and rocks around the landing site.
Aug 18,2023: Chandrayaan-3 begins its final countdown to a successful Moon landing. The Indian spacecraft performed a successful separation of the Vikram lander module from the propulsion module on 17 August, ISRO informed. Now, only a few days are left before the lander module will make an attempt to do a soft landing on the south polar region of the Moon on 23 August. If the Chandrayaan-3 mission succeeds, India will become the fourth country to master the technology of soft-landing by a robotic lunar rover on the Moon’s surface after the US, China, and the former Soviet Union.
